Our goal is to develop innovative composite materials that enable the upcycling of biological waste materials into new sustainable products that are in turn recyclable.
We are therefore committed to contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and a circular economy in large-scale industry.
The composites are protected by patents and are suitable for the production and manufacture of products in a wide range of industries, including packaging, furniture, design and construction.
In addition to the composites developed for upcycling coffee grounds, SUS has further developed composites for upcycling other waste raw materials and used products, such as plastics, textiles, short fibres and dusts that would otherwise end up in landfills.
In addition to the pioneering technology of SUS and its partners in terms of upcycling waste materials, all products made with it are bonded with adhesives without added formaldehyde and further contribute to a pollutant-reduced environment and better indoor air quality.
Formaldehyde is commonly used in the manufacture of furniture and other products, and it is well known that exposure to formaldehyde has the potential to contribute to a variety of health problems.
